We met in the old school way – at a small bar (Workman's Friend!) in Plaza Midwood, Charlotte. Marlee noticed Ryan upon entering the bar (because man, is that boy tall) and within minutes of snagging her first beer, one of Ryan's pals struck up a convo with her group... and the rest is history. The night ended with Ryan getting Marlee's digits and asking her to a Charlotte FC soccer game the following week.

The first official date was easy breezy with neither person keeping much of a watch on the game. From that night on, Marlee and Ryan spent as much time with each other as possible – learning all about each others' past, present, quirks, hobbies and hopes. Ryan fell for Marlee's caring nature, thoughtfulness and passion. Marlee fell for Ryan's rainbow flip flops and love of bass fishing (lol) but also his loyalty, work ethic, humor and optimism.

After falling in love, Ryan and Marlee worked to strengthen their foundation – always challenging the other person to become a better, more communicative, understanding and flexible human. As travel buddies, dog parents and home owners/renovators, the duo has loved watching and learning how the other ticks. With each new role, we've embraced the change and grown deeper in love.

AND HERE WE ARE! In engagement season. The sweetest yet. We can't wait to see what the next few months (and this upcoming lifetime!) have in store for us. We are so incredibly thankful to all of our sweet friends and family who have supported, loved and challenged us along our path. We wouldn't be here without you. Cheers to new chapters and a lifetime of building something uniquely ours.
